U14’s v Keswick 24th Jan
The Carlisle Cobras (U14s,) travelled to the Lake District this weekend, to play their first game in five weeks due to the recent inclement weather. Keswick were our hosts for the 2010 opener, where we received our usual warm welcome from our hosts on what was a very pleasant morning to play rugby. It was decided that the game would be played in three 20 minutes segments to give all the players from both sides a good run out. The game kicked off with both teams starting strongly, but in the ealry minutes, a penalty was awarded to the Cobras which was ...
Under 15’s v Tynedale
24th Jan 2010 After a 6 week lay off, the under 15's were looking to blow away the cobwebs with a good performance in a re-arranged match against Tynedale. The team made a solid start with Andy Glendinning giving his opposing centre a taste of the Tynedale pitch. Carlisle looked as if they had not suffered too much from the lack of match practice and were moving the ball around the backs to try to penetrate the Tynedale defence. As Wilson Noctor kicked through from within the Carlisle 22, the opposing fullback was placed under pressure by our chasing forwards and with the ...
Durham City 22 v Carlisle 7
North 1 East League Saturday, 23rd January 2010 [caption id="attachment_4102" align="alignleft" width="199" caption="Scrum half George Graham tried hard to motivate his team."][/caption] Definitely below par from Carlisle in this bottom of the table clash at Durham City for their first match since 12th December. Under performing, as they did in this encounter, does not bode well for the city side who really are going to have to work hard to restore their fortunes and salvage what has been a disappointing season to date. Rejuvenated after the enforced break due to the weather, they were not. The first half performance was less than exhilarating, and had ...

Hospice Appeal Poster
Tickets are now available for the fund raising event in aid of the Eden Valley Hospice in Carlisle to take place on Saturday 20th February at 7.00pm. This follows the sad death of Hannah Jackson, mum of forwards coach Colin Jackson and dear wife of Geoff, who is a member of our rugby committee. Hannah spent her final days at the hospice and the family were so impressed with the standards of care and compassion, that they have made it their goal to raise funds to assist with the invaluable work that the hospice do. The hospice need to raise around £5000 a ...
