Carlisle open with a home match in North 2 East when Billingham, new promoted champions from Durham/Northumberland 1 are the visitors.

The city side are without Joe Graham who has moved across the Pennines to play National 2 rugby with Tynedale.  Being from farming stock, the Graham’s like to keep things in the family and Joe’s number 2 berth at Warwick Road goes to his younger brother Tom!

The back division has some new blood on board with Chris Harris, newly promoted from Colts rugby starting on the right wing and Matt Rogers in the centre.  Rogers has moved to Carlisle from Creighton where his dad is the chairman and club secretary.

Mark Barron returns to the side at number 8 after missing a season and a half following a long term knee injury.  His flankers are Matt Charters and Bobby Sherlock.

The bench is made up of Harry Marshall and Mark Allan for the forwards with Barry Earl snapping at the heels of threequarters!

The Crusaders are also at home v West Hartlepool for what should have been their second Candy League game of the season.  The opening match with Middlesbrough at Warwick Road last Saturday fell victim to the weather.

The Hornets, with new skipper Fraser Forlow travel to meet Egremont on the newly zoned Cumbria Shield League.

Carlisle Colts entertain Wigton.
