A sunny day for a change this summer!

A number of ‘senior players’ were not availbale for this late organised fixture, but it gave the coaches the opportunity to play indivudals in different positions, especially in the backs. This was a hard fought match, harder than expcted, but the boys delivered a win. Initially it looked as if Carlisle would run away with the game with 2 unconverted tries scored in the first 10 minutes. Barrow re-grouped however and scored 2 converted tries. Carlisle heads dropped a little, especially when our hooker Joe “beaver” Bowman was injured, resulting in him being taken by ambulance to the local hospital for observation. I am pleased to report to day that he has made a full recovery following a slight concussion.

In the 2nd half following a “discussion” with the team coaches Carlisle came out all guns blazing and scored 2 quick converted tries in 15 minutes! and held on defending well to a determined Barrow who scored again (converted try in the 25th minute). Carlisle held on however for a win.
