Carlisle Rugby Club has recently undergone an inspection by the Environmental Health Department from Carlisle City Council.  The Council, who operate a rating system known as “Scores on the Doors”, has awarded the Club four stars out of a possible five.  This is an improvement on the previous mark of three.

This is a fine ackowledgement of the work done in the kitchen by Bill Swarbrick and his team of volunteers in respect of food safety performance.

This accolade should give added impetus to continue the efforts to improve all aspects of comfort for Members and other users of the Club.

Obviously, the kitchen and ancilliary facilities were the main focus of the inspection, but the bar and cellar were was subject to scrutiny also.   Recent improvements in the cellar area apparently impressed the inspector.

Complacency is not on the agenda and everyone connected with the running of the Club will be hoping to improve further in the future.

The Club is an ideal place for small conferences, parties and a variety of other functions, and propsective users of the facilities should be encouraged with the new status of the excellent facilities available.
