Older members around the Club will remember that great man, Tom Wood.  It is over a decade now since Tom sadly passed away.  He was a copper of the old school and a prop forward of no mean ability  –  there are many out there who will testify to titanic struggles in the pack.

A man who never suffered fools gladly, Tom was a valued member of the Club, and as well as playing long after many would have hung up their boots, he was a member of the committee at Carlisle RFC.

Tom is remembered around this time each year with a game between a Carlisle XV and the Cumbria Police. Come along and enjoy a ‘friendly’ match and make a donation to charity  –  a collection is always made for the Eden Valley Hospice.
