If there was ever a game of 2 halves this was it!

In the first half Carlise dominated with ease, running in tries from good forward control in the scrum and rucks, and good handling in the backs. Jordan C sarted the scoring, 3 minutes into the game running in to the corner – unconverted. This was follwed 5 minutes later with a try byJamie, good passing down the line, scoring in the other corner – not converted. 10 minutes later Alex T scored through a crash ball (he’s good at those) from a controlled ruck. Just before half time Jordan C scored, again through good handling by the backs. Half Time score 22 – 0.

What on earth happened in the second half! Whatever was in the water obviously pleased Keswick, Carlisle tackled poorly, were disorganised, played as individuals, 2 Carlisle players sin -binned (dubious honour of being the 1st major infringement for this squad!) which allowed Keswick, following good try-line rucking pressure, to score 2 tries. However, all was not lost, Coach Jim had a little chat! and the boys’ determined character re-surfaced and from much better running play, a try by Jordan R – converted.

Final Score:  Carlisle 29 :  Keswick 12.

Man of the match:   Alex Clark (as nominated by the referee – Martin Plummer )
