On Wednesday evening this week, the Editor of the local newspaper, Neil Hodgkinson, unveiled three plaques in the Clubhouse at Warwick Road. The plaques represented:
1) RFU Seal of Approval – Active Sport Award
2) RFU Mini & Youth Seal of Approval
3) Sport England Clubmark award.
This marked a significant achievement in the progress of the Club. The awards are prestigious, and standards must not be allowed to slip now that we have achieved this milestone. There is always room for improvement.
As well as Mr Hodgkinson, President John Tiffen welcomed other guests to the Club, including the Mayor of Carlisle, the Chairman of Cumbria County Council, Tom Clare and the President of Cumbria RFU, Neil Anderson.
L to R – Katie Wilson (Chairman of Ladies Rugby), Martin Plummer (Chairman of Rugby), Steve Stamper (Club Captain), Neil Hodgkinson (News & Star Editor), President John Tiffen & Moira Fisher (Secretary of Youth Rugby).
