This fixture was rearranged to play at Tynedale, because the Warwick Road pitch was unplayable.

A depleted U15’s squad turned up with 5 recruits press-ganged from the U14’s (more of which later).

Carlisle started with a strong tail wind, and within a minute Adam had run from his own 22 to score. Henry converted.

Four minutes later, strong Tynedale forward play led to a try.

On eight minutes Jack Mitchell ran 50 metres to score under the posts allowing Henry another easy conversion.

Seven minutes later, Alex T broke from his own 22, gaining 60 metres before offloading to Adam for his second try, again converted by the ever reliable Henry.

Slick handling led to Jamie scoring in the 29th minute…again Henry obliged.

Carlisle 28     –     5 Tynedale

In the second half, Carlisle knew they would be under the cosh as they turned to face the strong wind.

Tynedale scored down the right in the 3rd and 9th minutes to bring the score to 28 – 15.

Carlisle were then reduced to 14 men following a head wound to Alex T.

Some determined Carlisle rearguard action then followed as Tynedale pressed forward.

They scored again with 9 minutes remaining to bring the score to 28 – 20in Carlisle’s favour.

Carlisle held firm for the remainder of the match to maintain their nine-game unbeaten run.
