The 1st XV match with Aspatria was postponed following a pitch inspection at 11.30 am.  We wanted to give the game every chance of going ahead.  As it happens, the pitch could well have been playable at 2.15 pm!

The league authorities have notified us that the game has been pencilled in to be replayed on SATURDAY 21st MARCH at 3.00 pm.

In addition the league have also intimated that EASTER SATURDAY, 11TH APRIL, has now been designated as a league Saturday, so as to cater for other anticipated games that may be “frosted off”.

We are due to entertain OLD CROSSLEYANS on Saturday, 14th February, but given the weather forecast for the week leading up to it, there is a chance that game could be in danger of postponement too!

Also to fit into the programme is a home draw v ASPATRIA in the Cumbria Cup.   That will be a game that we will not be playing as a “double header”.

The Club have applied to the league to have Saturday, 2nd May to be a “non-league” Saturday.  It would normally have been outside the ambit of the league season, but because of the weather interfering, there is a chance that the season may go beyond 30th April.  We want to avoid a fixture on 2nd May, as it is in the calendar as a weekend for which pre-wedding antics have been ear-marked for Steve Stamper! Most of the team will be away,  We await the league decision on our application.

CRUSADERS and HORNETS were also without rugby on 7th February and all junior and youth rugby on 8th February has been jettisoned!
