Carlisle Colts 37    Morpeth Colts 7

The Colts comfortbaly beat at home a side that had beaten them narrowly earlier in the season. Make no mistake this was a true measure of the improvement made by this squad of players over the course of the season.

Morpeth arrived with only 14 players and we quickly agreed to make up their numbers. Ross Allan (out best player in recent weeks) and Stphen Hodgkinson (our team captain!) volunteered to have a half each for the visitors. This would allow our 4 U16s who were making their Colts debuts to remain with there team.

Morpeth were no bad side, it was just that at times Carlisle were very good. It was 17-0 at half time with tries from  Reece Bone, Keiron Little, and Tom Earl. In the second half Morpeth did get on the scoresheet with a breakout try from their impressive full back, but was Carlisle who continued to impress with their handling skills and pace of game. Further tries came at regular intervals from Reece Bone and Keiron Little again, the returning Ross Allan and finally Stuart Bulman.

That makes it three league wins from four in 2009. We may not win the title but at the moment we are the form side of the division!
