FRIDAY, 29TH MAY 2009
The annual club awards presentation night was held in the Club on Friday, 29th May. This popular event was a sell out, albeit that one or two were unable to come due to illness.
The President Elect of the RFU, John Owen from Shap, the President of Cumbria RFU, Neil Anderson from Kirkby Lonsdale, joined the Carlisle President, John Tiffen on the top table with other club officials.

L to R - RFU President Elect John Owen, John Tiffen - Carlisle President and Neil Anderson - Cumbria RFU President.
Guests enjoyed a sumptuous meal prepared by Bill Swarbrick and Ian Scott with their helpers, and served by lads from the youth section. We say a big thank you to them all for a job well done.
The higlight of the evening was the presentation of the awards followed by a brief address from Owen, an address in which he emphasised the need for players to display loyalty to their Club. Acknowledging that there would always be those who sought to enhance their career elsewhere, it was not always the case that “the grass was greener on the other side”
