Under 14’s v Penrith

First game of the season for the Carlisle Under 14s saw a nice warm day in Penrith. Early pressure from the home side saw them with 2 chances in the corner of the Carlisle half.

Soon Carlisle took control of the game with a try from James Robson and two from Thomas Fuller within the first 22 minutes all neatly converted by Brett Connon. 25 minutes into the game  saw a try from Daniel Gomersall expanding the lead to 26-0 at half time. After half time, Carlisle were straight out with lots of pressure in the Penrith half and a 2nd try for James Robson and a third for Thomas Fuller who was having a great game.

Brett Connon scored Carlisles 7th try of the game and converted to pull out a healthy 43 point lead. Penrith continued to work hard, which finally paid off, scoring a try and conversion mid-way through the 2nd half. Carlisle hit back again with a further try for Daniel Gomersall and one for Tom Coulthard both of them converted by Brett Connon.

Carlisle finished with their 10th try in the last play of the match scored by Henry Wainwright. Final score 62-7
