Tynedale were kind enough to arrange a fixture at less than 24 hours notice, after original opponents Percy Park called off at the last minute due to illness and injury.
Sustained early Carlisle pressure paid off when Alex Taylor received the ball 5 metres out, and drove over for the first try.
As in previous fixtures, Tynedale came back strongly, and put Carlisle under pressure, however, a good clearance led to a line out in the Tynedale 22, allowing Mike Fearon to score…..Tom McMann duly converted.
The midfield tussle then restarted, before Carlisle pressure led to a penalty, which Tom McMann kicked.
The next 15 minutes were a dour affair between the 22s, until Adam Robertson intercepted a Tynedale pass, releasing Jordie Clement for a try.
Just before the stroke of half time, Mike Fearon scored his second try which was converted to make the score at the break 29 – 0.
The second half began as the first ended, Dom McGrath, now playing full-back, started a great line via Adam Robertson to allow Jamie Harrison a well deserved try.
The floodgates had now opened, and tries followed from Jordie Clement, Mike Fearon, Alex Clark and debutant James Ord, leading, with conversions from Tom McMann and Mike Fearon to a score-line of 60 – 0 in favour of Carlisle.
Tynedale finally scored their consolation try after a full 45 minutes of the second half…..thanks to some generous and sympathetic “injury time” from the referee!

Final score   Carlisle 60 – 5 Tynedale
Man of the match – Adam Robertson
