The recent heavy rains have meant that training at Warwick Road has been curtailed.

river_petteril600All the pitches and training areas are sodden, and unable to drain properly.  Our drainage outlet runs into the river Petteril, and the sluice gate is held close due to the height of the river.

Additionally, the floodlights switchgear box has been flooded and will need urgent maintenance before the lights can be used again.

Alternative arrangements
Martin Plummer, chairman of rugby, has made arrangements with Austin Friars School, for the use of their new astro turf facility.

He will be liasing with various sections of the club about the availability and appropriate arrangements.

Others less fortunate
At least we have been relatively lucky this time around  –  our friends at Keswick have had a repeat of the 2005 disaster.  Sadly though, and as much as we would like to offer them the use of our playing facilities, that is simply not possible at the moment.

We wish them well in their recovery efforts.
