Ben Blain has been awarded the RFU Gold Award as a leading light in the club vRugby scheme.  Ben, who has been at Carlisle throughout his rugby career, was presented with the award in the Club on Tuesday, 16th March by Liam Nicholls, Rugby Development Officer for Cumbria, on behalf of the President of the RFU.

Blain finds time for all his young volunteer activities in addition to training for and playing his rugby, as well as refereeing at various age groups.

He has a coaching forte too, being the head coach for the under 15 age group and helps with others too.

Ben, along with several other younger members of the senior squad, has been involved in fund raising events for a variety of causes, and he plays his part in administration too, being a member of the Rugby Committee at the Club.

It is understood that this is only the second such award of its kind, and they have both been in the north west.

Well done Blaino!
