Carlisle U12′s just managed to miss out on the finals of the Cup Competition on the toss of a coin having finished joint second in one of the toughest groups. As a result they found themselves playing off in the Plate finals.
Having soundly beaten Tynedale B in the semi finals, they went up against Ripon in the final and completely dominated the game winning 35 – 0. Ripon were no match for the Cumbrians who tackled solidly, re-cycled the ball with confidence and persistently drove their way through the Ripon defence.
Having seen how one sided the Plate finals were, the U12′s were all left wondering what might have been had that toss gone their way after the group games.
