A Rugby Ready Course is taking place on SUNDAY, 18th JULY at Wigton Rugby Club.  This is a 3 hours course (1.00 pm to 4.00 pm) and costs only  £18 per person.

This workshop is aimed at all those who are involved in the well being of rugby players no matter what their age or experience.

The session will cover three main areas of interest:

1) injury prevention
2) specific technical aspects of the game relating to contact
3) injury management

It is expected that all participants will have a greater understanding and be able to describe and illustrate principles of safe practice as they relate to and may be applied in playing, coaching, refereeing and any other aspect of administration or supervision of the game.

The area of player safety and well being is vital for not only the growth of the game nationally but also locally.

Anyone who applies for an RFU Level 1 coaching award must have completed the 3 hours IRB workshop as this is a mandatory induction for all coaches accessing RFU Level 1 awards.

The course will be predominantly practical and will focus on the Key Coaching Factors of scrum, tackle, managing body and ball in contact.

Each coach attending will receive a Rugby Ready Booklet containing information, best practice and ideas on all aspects relating to the playing and coaching of rugby union, and a DVD that illustrates the technical coaching points of scrum, lineout, contact, tackle and maul.

Any club member interested in attending must first comply with the club conditions (to be found on this website) and then send as soon as possible, application form and cheque (made payable to RFDL) to:  Jane Cliff, 1 Alcumlow Cottage, Brook Lane, Astbury, Congleton, Cheshire, CW12 4TJ.
