Carlisle U13’s kicked off their first game of the season at Penrith last Sunday and came away with a fine win against a strong home side.

The 12 man Carlisle team were kindly offered a Penrith player to assist and duly went one up early in the first half from winger Mark Gallimore as a result of excellent running & passing play from the backs.  Good rucking and more good handling resulted in centre James Martin driving through the Penrith defence to score.

Penrith then put the pressure on to score just before half time following determined play from their pack, and they coverted comfortably.

In the second half, two Carlisle tries came from scrum half James Telford and finally a set piece from a penalty saw second row Harry Powell  drive through the Penrith defence to seal the win.

All Carlisle tries were converted by Struan Kyle.
