At last season 10/11 was on us & a first visit for Carlisle at youth level to Horden.

Having beat our counterparts in winning last season Darlington Festival Carlisle knew a tuff game was in the offing & Horden were looking to revenge that defeat.

Carlisle received the k.o but knocked on allowing the home team to take field advantage for over 15 minutes, piling on the pressure over & over again, on  two occasions out pacing our defence down the left wing to give them a two try advantage,as Carlisle were struggling to get out of our own half.

So stern words & a delivery of some self believe did the trick with a rumbustious try from pack leader Lewis Fuller bringing us back into the game, however slightly short lived as Horden hit back again with a third try all unconverted.

Back came Carlisle, with a feast of  running from Tom Coulthard and a gaggle of side steps (at least 10 in one attack) Carlisle confidence was now building, eventually setting up debutant Brendan Ferguson to go over for a well worked & well deserved try.

Carlisle decided that would do & closed out first half to turn round 15-10 down but the advantage of a fairly strong wind.

And use it they did constantly turning the home side & pinning them down time after time.

The Carlisle pack was now on a charge & at several scrums drove Horden backwards setting up our backs time & time again with Captain Tom Fuller & centre partner Freddie Campbell Graham pulled up short on several occasions.

Most of the game was now in Hordens 22, constant pressure from Carlisle Forwards was now telling, & a try from Brett Connon was everything we deserved, but not enough for Brett he grabbed another two (pic 2) and Tom Coulthard pitched in with a couple more, Brett tagging on a couple of conversions.

A late try reduced the score to 22-39 for Carlisle with a more then deserved win.Carlisle RFC Under 15's v Horden

An M.O.M. would be very hard to single out as this was total rugby with the 19 guys used giving  everything they could, yet special mention should go go Tom Percival,Henry Berry,Chris Mapp & Stuart Cruikshank, who grafted all day.
