Carlisle U13’s had another tough match when they travelled away to Sunderland on Sunday 3rd October.

Carlisle only had 13 players available for the game and Sunderland players to made up the numbers.  Injuries on the day meant the visitors were always going to struggle, but in very wet conditions they battled hard throughout.

Excellent counter rooking and good handling in the slippery conditions resulted in Carlisle sharing posession throughout the game, but a large Sunderland pack saw the visitors loose too much posession in the scrum.

Carlisle came close to scoring a try late on the second half, when Guy Graham just missed getting the pass out to centre Josh Heap who was through and some excellent clearance kicking from Struan Kyle helped keep the home side in check.  Every one of the Carlisle players gave their best on a day when a full strength squad would have probably given them victory.
