After last weeks indifferent performance Carlisle got back to winning ways on 23rd January, with a much more rambunctious display.

A fast paced game which resulted in many handling errors but the core skills at ruck & maul were much improved allowing the home side a number
of turn over’s & a steady platform throughout both half’s.

In all Carlisle used 24 different players & each one of these were well on the game.

Clever kicking pinned West Hartlepool back time & time again & the forward platform allowed Carlisle to move the ball, alas one or two dropped balls may have resulted in a few more points, never the less this was an all-round performance.

Ref for the day Any Glendinning from the under 16s squad kept the game flowing as well as possible, & due to the odd heated moment from at least two yellow carded Carlisle offenders his performance lacked the praise it deserved from both spectators & coaches (well done Andy)

Carlisle found the heart beat that was missing from the Kirby game on a cold damp day in a week with more then one game & a hard training session, so the lads lasted well & at times showed some of our best work so far this season.

Result:            28 v 17
Half time score:        20 v 5
