Over 50 teams from across the north of England with over 600 children took part in a massive rugby festival organised by Newcastle Falcons, in what ended up unfortunately as horrendous conditions.

Carlisle RFC Under 10's

Youngsters braved awful weather conditions in the Falcons Tournament

Carlisle Under 10s were drawn in pool C and opened up the tournament on 6th February, drawing 1-1 with Northern Cobras after having a number of tries questionably being disallowed.

Carlisle went on to beat Stockton 4-0. The final group game was conceded by Whitley Bay resulting in Carlisle progressing to the semi final against Sunderland as Northern’s win over Whitley Bay was voided.  The semi final began with both sides players struggling in the mud and cold, but Carlisle were able to rally and eased to a comfortable 4-0 win.

Sadly for Carlisle, the final against Tynedale A was one match to many. Tynedale A managed to score either side of half time and then score a late try to win 3-0 in what was a closely fought game. The squad of Stephen Bowman, George Dudley, Ethan Longworth, Rory Mills, Oliver Ord, Toby Pattinson, Taryn Reay, Charlie Skeer, Dominic Sutton, Jake Whittaker & Lawrence Wilson were all presented runners up medals on the Falcons pitch at half time of the match between Falcons and Exeter Chiefs in front of thousands of rugby fans.”
