Carlisle Under-11’s earned a 20-20 draw in a dramatic finish against Langholm on 20th Feb.
The home side took the lead when strong forward play by Jack Harrison and Christian Tait gave Ruaridh Barker the chance to cross for a try. However, a breakaway try by Cameron Wadge – the first of four such tries for him in the game – levelled the scores at half-time.
The heavy ground failed to spoil a cracking second period and Carlisle regained the lead through a Barker try only for Wadge to reply. Tait put Carlisle ahead again but Wadge struck twice leaving the home side trailing with one minute ago. A clearance kick by Langholm was picked up and returned by Alex Hodgkinson from inside his own half and although his effort and a subsequent attempt by Barker to ground the ball over the line were foiled Tait was on hand to level the match.
