With the dust still settling from last weeks cup semi Carlisle loaded the wagons on rolled out to Penrith for a round robin with the hosts & the touring Durham City.

Carlisle U15's v Penrith

Brendan Try v Penrith

A good turn out allowed Carlisle to field near enough two different teams & gave the lads missing from the cup run a chance to prove a point.

First up Penrith as  Carlisle got away to a good start, two or three good rucking phases with quick ball gave Will Nichol some pace as he just over cooked his kick through, however the ref deemed Tom Fuller was impeded & allowed a penalty try converted by Bret Connon.

Just the confident start Carlisle needed & for the rest of the first half they gave Penrith very few opportunities to have the ball, running in another try from Lewis Reed to turn round 12-0

Second half was much the same with Carlisle controlling the game for the main in Penrith`s half with further scores from Brendan Ferguson, two from Guy Wilkinson & 2 conversions tagged by Brett Connon.

Carlisle U15's v Durham City

Tom Percival try v Durham

An excellent forward performance from the Carlisle pack with good lineout ball & very steady scrummage, with a good tally of steals from Henry Wainwright.

Game two & our first ever meeting against Durham City, & far too much respect paid as Carlisle were pinned back for the first few minutes allowing Durham a 3-0 lead from a penalty in front of our posts, after repeated infringing.

This sparked Carlisle into life as they pressed into Durham`s half, holding territory for the rest of the first half with scores from Tom Percival & Fergus Campbell both well worked from some forward domination, & several phases of play.

Second half was much the same, more good forward work allowing plenty ball for Will Nichol at fly half to use wisely, Will rounding off the day with a well deserved try of his own, converted by Tom Coulthard.

All in all a good run out with some notable performances.
