North 1 East League
Saturday, 17th October 2009
This week the senior XV travel to Gateshead where they will be looking to get back on track and climb the table. Of the matches played against the north east outfit since we transferred to the north east section of the league, Carlisle are in the ascendency to date. Let’s hope we can keep it that way.
Carlisle will select from the same eighteen on duty against Durham City with some additions.
Team from:
Chris Harris
Dan Holmes
Ross Olney
George Graham
Barry Earl
Glen Weightman
Ben Blain
Max Connon
Steve Stamper
Tom Graham
Martin McGimpsey
Aidan Day
Gareth Wylie
Bobby Sherlock
Gary Graham
Mark Barron
Dan Smithson
Adam Morrison
Joe Anderson
Anyone intending to travel with the team, the coach leaves Warwick Road at 10.45 am.

The Carlisle 1st XV will travel to Driffield on Saturday 1st October for their North1 East league match, kicking off at 3.00pm.
Carlisle hope to continue their improving league form with the visit to Driffield on Saturday. The meeting time is at the Warwick Road ground at 9.45 pm.
The city side rely on a largely unchanged team after the demolition of Darlington last week when the ran out comfortable winners by 37 pts to 15 pts.
Gareth Wylie is unavailable due to work committments, and he will be disappointed to lose out to Aidan Day who returns after being out last week due to a training injury.
15 Max Connon
14 Dan Holmes
13 Chris Harris
12 George Graham
11 Barry Earl
10 Glen Weightman
9 Ben Blain
1 Steve Stamper (Captain)
2 Tom Graham
3 Martin McGimpsey
4 Aidan Day
5 Martin Grealish
6 Dan Smithson
7 Bobby Sherlock
8 Mark Barron
16 Matt Davis
17 John Bowman
18 Ross Olney
It’s amazing what a couple of wins can do for the league position. From the basement to fifth in the league in just over eight days. Coach Richard Metcalf will be looking for his charges to grab another couple of league points. Whilst it is early days, and all to play for, there is only one side unbeaten – the leaders Billingham, and Carlisle have had a taste of their back division! But, they can take heart from the fact that the Carlisle defenve lealed less points to the north east outfit than any other side they have played.
