Saturday 10th December – The annual lunch for members of the Patron’s Club who will be invited to join in with our sponsors for a meal before the match with Anselmians.

Sunday, 18th December – The annual President’s Cocktail Party and all that goes with it.  Also at that event the draw will be made for the Patron’s Club draw.  Prizes £250  -  £100  -  £50.  Remember please, this a function for club members and not open house for all and sundry!

The Beach Party advertised as the Let’s Party Night on Friday, 19th August has had to be postponed.

Watch out for the new date once the season get’s under way.

Kendal Rugby Club are holding their Big Weekend at the Clubs’  Mint Bridge headquarters from Friday, 26th to Sunday, 28th August.

The bank holiday weekend event will host a beer festival with over 18 real ales!

Live music on the Friday will be provided by Catch 22 - a talented group of young musicians who play a wide and varied range of music from Coldplay and Keane to Elton John and The Beatles.

Kendal RFC will play Luctonians on Saturday in a National League 2 North season opener.

The Big weekend events conclude on the Sunday with a Lorry pull (enter your team now)! and Kendals’ 2 Colts teams playing Barrows’ Hawcoat Park.

On Sunday there will also be;

• A barbecue
• Fun stalls
• Games

And let’s not forget the beer festival…all day.

Information has already been posted previously about a fund raising evening on 19th August.  This is to take the form of a kicking golf competition and party night. Ben Blain has now issued more information about the event on Friday, 19th August. 

Apart from the fun element, it is meant to be an effort to raise funds for the general well being of the club.  The function will take the form of a combined day / evening of entertainment suitable for all ages groups.

In the past, many events have been aimed at one or the other, and more likely at one age group.  Ben is trying an “open” event to bring all strands of the club together.

It will be a great opportunity for all the p[layers, coaches, parents, committee (and anyone else interested) to network before the start of the new season.

Follow the links for details of the kicking golf competition which is aimed particularly at the youth section.  Senior players will be involved in helping to organise and marshal the event.

In the evening there will be the Beach Party that has been previously advertised.

The party will feature a hog roast, disco and cheap offers on some designer drinks from specialist bars, similar to the “Jagermeister” night that was held earlier in the year.  The night event will be ticket based and they are available at £5 per head from Ben Blain (or at the bar).

Ben would also like to offer the evening event to youth organisers to raise fund for their own section for a tour or other special event.  It could be a raffle or a spot the ball or similar.  The chance to do this will be on a first come, first served basis, so get in touch with Ben, because there will only be the one opportunity.

Spread the word folks about this great day / night out being organised by Ben and his helpers.  As he says, we do well with a variety of individual group efforts, but this is one for all the club to take part in.

Teams of 3 to 6 are invited to take part with a £5.00 entrance fee per team and no need to book.

1St prize £30.00 per team, 2nd prize £15 per team, 3rd prize £7.00 per team. Teams will be entered into a mini-league and will win major prizes at our Xmas Quiz Night on December the 19th.

The Carlisle RFC annual awards night presentation and dinner will be held in the club on Friday, 10th June at 7.00pm for 7.30pm.

Tickets (£10) for this popular event will shortly be available behind the bar.

LucyCooks of Staveley, Kentmere have come on board with Outrageous and Carlisle Rugby Club to raise funds for Guide dogs for the blind and partially sighted.

The cookery school which is linked to the fabulous restaurant, delicatessen, wine bar and bistro in Ambleside have donated a cookery school voucher for a superb day of culinary experience which will be one of the items auctioned at the end of the night.

Lucy said “On a full day practical course you will enjoy a day of entertaining, inspirational cookery of your choice … from cakes and bakes to thrilling three courses, or perhaps something to rekindle the pleasure of preparing, cooking and serving food with passion – or it might be one of our ‘taste of … days’, or maybe a specialist course such as gluten or dairy free … so much choice!
