Carlisle RFC have over sixteen teams, from our under 7′s to our seniors; including a very successful women’s section.
Established in 1873, as Carlisle Football Club – (our next door neighbours, Carlisle United FC, didn’t come into being until 1921)!
Our first match was a home game against our near neighbours from across the border at Langholm Rugby Football Club.
Club Colours:
The Club’s original colours were black jerseys to which a white Maltese Cross was added in 1879.
The black jerseys have been long gone but the Maltese Cross continues to be our official emblem and is now red.
